Violet Grohl, daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, is said to be readying her debut solo album.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the eldest daughter of Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum is reportedly “incredibly committed” to breaking out on her own and “growing as an artist,” says a source.
The 18-year-old Violet has spent time touring with Foo Fighters as a backup singer, and has already performed as a singer in a solo capacity.
The source reveals that she is currently working at her home studio, given to her by her parents as a birthday gift, with producer Justin Raisen, who has worked with the likes of Charli XCX, Lizzo, Sky Ferreira, and most recently, Kim Gordon's Grammy-nominated album, The Collective.
“She’s a true torch singer,” says the source. “Her vocals are tremendous. She’s very talented.”
Violet has released one song, a duet with her father on a cover of "Nausea," as a tribute to the L.A. punk band X. She also performed a cover of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box," during an appearance at the Sun Rose in West Hollywood, CA back in February, and joined pianist Mike Garson for a cover of David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World," famously covered by her dad and Nirvana for their MTV Unplugged session.
