Walk the Moon guitarist Eli Maiman announced Wednesday he is stepping away from the band so he can be at his pregnant wife’s side.
The 33-year-old musician said Alex, his wife of just over a year, is 38 weeks pregnant. “We are in the home stretch, and, really, baby boy could show up at any time,” he explained in an Instagram post.
“Since we’re on his schedule, after much thought, ive decided i cannot be present at our upcoming shows in las vegas, sonoma, and el dorado. as much as it bums me out to miss these, it would break my heart to miss the birth of my son, and i simply can’t risk it.”
Maiman said Lachlan West will fill in for him at those shows.
“Thank you for your support and understanding,” he added.
