A Tribe Called Quest is making a comeback with a new album, We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, their first in 18 years.
Taking advantage of their appearance on Saturday Night Live this week, the band made sure to perform with a bang on the Dave Chappelle-hosted show to remember Phife Dawg.
Q-Tip came out with a fist in the air, and said "If you're looking at us, stand up, touch somebody next to you. Everybody stand up, one fist up in the air. We are all one. We are the people," after which Jarobi joined him for "We The People..."
The tribute to their pal came where Phife Dawg's part should have been. Q-Tip held his microphone to a giant image of Phife.
The second performance on the show was accompanied by Consequence and Busta Rhymes performing "The Space Program," the first track on the new album. They closed with an amazing and fraternal group hug.
