Nine-year-old Celine Tam is trending this week after she belted out Céline Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” on an upcoming episode of America’s Got Talent.
The adorable young singer’s performance has been viewed more than 8 million times on YouTube and 40 million times on Facebook since it was posted on June 16.
Tam’s parents are such huge fans of the Canadian chanteuse that they named their daughters Celine and Dionne.
“When I was in the car, my dad’s driving, and then suddenly I just sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and then he was like, ‘Wow,’” Tam explained.
Just in time for the award-winning song’s 20th anniversary, Tam sang it for judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Canada's Howie Mandel.
When Cowell sarcastically asked Tam what artist she will be singing for her audition, the youngster replied: “Céline Dion. Duh!”
Tam is no amateur, though.
Trained by her father Steve, a vocal coach, she started winning singing competitions in China and Hong Kong when she was just 4 years old. In 2014 she became a star in China when she performed “You Raise Me Up” on the Hunan Broadcasting System show Let’s Sing Kids.
A year later, Tam signed with entertainment label GME China.
The winner of America's Got Talent is offered a $1 million annuity paid over 40 years or a lump sum that comes to about $250,000. Last season's winner was singer Grace VanderWaal, now 13.
