WATCH Alison Krauss Returns With Heartfelt Ballad ‘Losing You’

Alison Krauss is back with the second song off of her forthcoming album, Windy City. It marks her first solo record since 1999’s Forget About It.

“Losing You” is a cover of the Brenda Lee song of the same name, from Lee’s 1963 album Let Me Sing. It’s a follow-up track to her cover of Roger Miller’s “River in the Rain”, released Feb. 3. In fact, Krauss’ Windy City will be a collection exclusively comprised of cover songs.

Of her choice to record an album of only covers, Krauss told EW, “I wanted songs that were older than me. I feel like music that was of the time of your parents’ youth, it has a real romance.”

Together with Nashville producer Buddy Cannon, the 45-year-old cherry picked ten of her favourite songs. Her picks included Willie Nelson’s “I Never Cared For You” and Eddy Arnold’s “You Don’t Know Me”, among others.
