Ariana Grande assumes the office of the U.S. president in the video for “Positions,” the new single from her forthcoming album.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the video shows the 27-year-old pop star leading a White House meeting, holding court in the Oval Office, giving a press conference and honouring postal workers. Among those making appearances are Victoria Monét and Grande’s mother Joan.
Of course, none of it has anything to do with the song, which is far more sexual than political. “This some s**t that I usually don’t do / But for you I kinda, kinda want to,” sings Grande. “Cause you’re down for me / And I’m down too / Yeah I’m down too / Switching the positions for you.”
The track was produced by frequent Grande collaborator Tommy Brown and London on da Track (aka London Holmes).
Grande’s sixth album – and third in as many years – drops Oct. 30, just about 20 months after Thank U, Next. In between, Grande was heard on several collaborations, including “Stuck With U” with Justin Bieber and “Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga.
