Beyoncé marked International Day of the Girl on Wednesday with a powerful video featuring her 2016 song “Freedom.”
Produced by Chime for Change and The Global Goals, the video shows girls lip-synching and dancing to the track from Beyoncé's Lemonade album.
It also displays statistics about female health and education — and violence against females — around the world. “Every five minutes a girl dies as a result of violence,” it declares.
“One in four girls gets married as a child.”
The video ends with the message: “Girls around the world are fighting for their freedom every day. Join them.”
