Billy Ray Cyrus is hoping to kickstart a line dance with his new single “Country Twisted.”
The song was written by Canadians Peter Gibson and Morris Tancredi and recorded in Vancouver.
“Oh Lord, where’d everybody go / Oh hell ya, we’re all right here getting country twisted,” he sings. “Oh my God, Oh hell ya, I heard it on the radio / Don’t mind me, I’m getting country twisted.”
Cyrus, 59, lived in Toronto for three years while starring in the TV series Doc. He was in Calgary last year to co-host the CCMA Awards.
His 1992 single “Achy Breaky Heart” was a crossover hit around the world. Last year, Cyrus was featured on a remix of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” that topped the charts and earned Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.
