Less than a week after performing his new song “God’s Country” at the ACM Awards – where it earned him a standing ovation – Blake Shelton has debuted its powerful video.
Directed by Sophie Muller, the video was shot in Shelton’s beloved Oklahoma. “We spent four days shooting there in and around Tishomingo, getting connected to the land, the environment and the spirit of the music,” Shelton explained, in a release.
“As I’ve said before, I was born in Oklahoma and I’ll be buried there and Sophie Muller … really captured the countryside in a stark and vivid way.”
The track was penned by Devin Dawson, Michael Hardy and Jordan Schmidt.
The video comes shortly after Shelton shared a “prequel” video that showed nothing but a burning farm tractor.
