Canadian country music star Brett Kissel shared a video Friday for his autobiographical song “Cecilia.”
The track, co-written with High Valley’s Brad Rempel, is about Kissel missing his wife Cecilia while he’s on the road.
“My heart’s falling / Your green eyes are calling,” he sings. “I’m on my way back home, sweet home / I’m not that far away / I’ve just got to see you Cecilia.”
The video, which was directed by Blake McWilliam, combines performance footage with scenes that were filmed in downtown Toronto. There’s a fun twist at the end.
In 2016, Kissel told iHeartRadio.ca that his wife noticed he worked harder and smarter after they became parents. "If I’m going to be out on the road, I try to be as busy as I possibly can so that when I’ve got time off and I’m at home, I’m at home,” he explained.
Kissel is surely missing Cecilia while out on his We Were That Song tour, which runs until Dec. 7 – with more dates expected to be added.
On Nov. 25 he will be in Edmonton to sing the national anthem at the Grey Cup.
