British boy band Union J released a cover version of "Mercy" by Canada's Shawn Mendes on Sunday.
"Hope you enjoy it!!," the group tweeted.
The simple black-and-white video shows Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley, and Casey Johnson belting out their take on Mendes' hit song.
Mendes co-wrote "Mercy" with Teddy Geiger, Danny Parker and Ilsey Juber for his Illuminate album. The original is currently in the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Ontario-born singer recently said "Mercy" is not necessarily about a girl.
"I like to picture it as pleading for mercy for my career, type of thing,” Mendes said in a Front and Center interview. "[I] just want to say ‘Hey, have some mercy on me – just let me rest for a second.’
“That’s the crazy nature of being someone who creates music, and I think that song kind of expresses all that emotion and anger behind loving something so much.”
Formed in 2011, Union J has released two albums. They embark on a European tour in February.
