BTS has premiered “Permission to Dance,” a song co-written by Ed Sheeran that appears on the just-released “Butter” CD single.
Like “Butter,” the new track was co-written by Calgary native Jenna Andrews. Also credited are Snow Patrol frontman Johnny McDaid and Sheeran collaborator Steve Mac. Sheeran had a hand in the 2019 BTS song "Make It Right."
“I just wanna dance / The music’s got me going,” BTS sings. “Ain’t nothing that can stop how we move.”
“Permission to Dance” came with a desert-set video that culminates with dozens of people in masks joining BTS to dance.
The K-pop group is scheduled to return to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 13 and 14, for performances of both “Permission to Dance” and “Butter.”
