Canadian rapper-singer Belly got pummelled by security guards Friday night at Coachella while he watched his friend The Weeknd perform.
Video of a fracas was shared by TMZ.
Belly, whose real name is Ahmad Balshe, was reportedly part of a group of people walking from the sound booth to the VIP area in front of the stage during The Weeknd’s set when security guards start punching him.
It’s not known what sparked the incident. Later, Belly tweeted: “20 of you p***ies couldn’t take me off my feet” and “I’m great y’all.”
He had performed earlier at Coachella and, on Twitter, called it the “best night of my life.”
Belly added: “No negative bulls**t can steal my joy.”
Raised in Ottawa, Belly has co-written a number of The Weeknd’s hits, including “The Hills” and the Oscar-nominated “Earned It.”
