It was back to Back to the Future this past weekend for Michael J. Fox, who picked up a guitar to jam on stage at a charity benefit in New York.
The 55-year-old Canadian star played with Dave Matthews during the annual A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s event.
Among this year’s guests at the party, hosted by Fox’s wife Tracy Pollan, was Fox’s fellow Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds.
Just like his character Marty McFly did at the school dance in Back to the Future, Fox got up on stage to show off his music skills.
Of course, it wasn’t the first time Fox has added a riff to a famous singer’s set. A few years ago he joined Coldplay’s Chris Martin on stage during his performance at the fundraiser.
This past summer, Martin brought the actor out on stage during a concert in New Jersey to play guitar on two songs from the iconic movie.
Fox went public with his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 1999 and has been a leading advocate for research and support programs ever since. His foundation has raised millions.
