Steven Lee Olsen, who has helped write country hits for artists like Keith Urban and Garth Brooks, has released a song he’s performing himself.
“Hello Country” comes via Olsen’s label SLO Circus Records and is described by the Ontario-born artist as “a feel good, summer song.”
In a release, he explained: “This new song was definitely a fun one to write. We basically wanted to recreate the feeling of leaving the city on a long road trip and heading out to the country where everything is beautiful and you feel really small.”
Olsen co-wrote Urban’s “Blue Ain’t Your Color” and Kip Moore’s “More Girls Like You” and has hand a hand in songs recorded by artists like The Judds, Craig Morgan and Emerson Drive.
Olsen, 33, is set to perform Aug. 4 at the Rockin’ River Music Festival in Merritt, B.C. and will be playing six shows in Alberta and B.C. from Oct. 24 to Nov. 1 on tour with Rascal Flatts.
