Canadian pop group The Moffatts have taken the Philippines by storm — again.
Brothers Scott, Clint and Bob reunited this month in the Southeast Asian country, where The Moffatts remain phenomenally popular.
Fans packed the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila last Saturday to relive hits like “Girl Of My Dreams,” “Miss You Like Crazy” and “I’ll Be There For You.”
Missing from the stage was Dave Moffatt, who chose not to be part of the group’s farewell tour of the Philippines. (In November, Clint Moffatt told iHeartRadio.ca: “We asked Dave if he wanted to be a part of it, and he said, ‘I’m just not there right now in my life. I have other things I want to do.’”)
Originally from B.C., the band of brothers started as a country act when they were kids and morphed into one of Canada’s most successful ‘90s pop groups.
Their aptly titled 1998 release of Chapter I: A New Beginning earned the guys several Juno Awards, including Best Pop Album and Best Group.
Their follow-up album, 2000’s Submodalities, was a more modest success.
The Moffatts split up in 2001. Bob and Clint, both now 32, live in Nashville and perform as country duo Endless Summer. Scott, 33, lives in Montreal and remains active in the music industry.
(Dave is a yoga instructor in Toronto. “He’s completely out of the business and he’s doing fantastic,” Bob said in November.)

This month returned to the Phillippines, where they first performed in 1998. Video posted online shows the musicians being mobbed as they arrived at the airport.
“We never really came back to say goodbye,” Scott Moffatt said on a Manila TV show. “It’s great that we’re able to come back and say goodbye and really do it right as opposed to just kind of disappearing.”
The trio made a bunch of appearances on radio and TV shows to promote their Feb. 18th farewell concert, which included the Moffatts repertoire and some Endless Summer songs.
The Moffatts are scheduled to perform again on March 1 at the Punta Fuego Beach Resort in Nasugbu Batangas, about two hours south of Manila.
