Carrie Underwood returned to the Soo Pass Ranch stage as the opening night headliner at WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota Thursday night.
The country singer wowed a massive crowd with a 90-minute set of her No. 1 hits. With a setlist of 21 fan favorites, the seven-time Grammy winner sparked a audience-wide singalong with live performances of popular tracks like “Before He Cheats” and "(I Don't Even Know My) Last Name."
After belting savior song “Jesus Take the Wheel” and her spirited Winter Olympics and Super Bowl anthem “The Champion,” Underwood delivered a lively rendition of “Choctaw County Affair” and dazzled with her guitar during “Smoke Break.”
The American Idol star made her headlining debut at WE Fest alongside Keith Urban in 2013.
Following Underwood’s presentation was Pure Prairie League frontman Vince Gill, who delivered a set of his classics, including toe-tapping tunes like "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away” and "Pretty Little Adriana” before stars like Chris Janson, Justin Moore and fellow headliners Florida Georgia Line stormed the stage.
The festival will conclude on Saturday, with performances by Chris Young, Jason Aldean and more closing out the show.
