Chance the Rapper went undercover as a Lyft driver named John to surprise passengers and promote the app’s partnership with his New Chance Fund charity.

The rap star pretended to be bad at freestyling during one ride and shared his thoughts on rappers like Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar.

Chance dropped not-so-subtle clues about his identify along the way. He quoted lyrics from his track “No Problem” at another driver and tells one of his passengers that he doesn’t use GPS because he prefers to “leave things up to chance.”

The video was made to promote Chance’s charity, which supports public schools in his native Chicago.
