Charlie Puth on Wednesday released the first of three new songs, “I Warned Myself,” along with an intense video for it.
In a tweet, the singer said the track “is about a vicious cycle of going back to someone continuously, knowing deep down that they aren’t any good for you.”
Puth sings: “You mess with my heart / Now you’re the reason why / Warned myself that I shouldn’t play with fire / I can tell that I’ll do it one more time.”
Co-written with Benny Blanco, it’s the first new music from the “Attention” singer since last year’s Voicenotes and comes with a video directed by Brendan Vaughan.
