Charlie Worsham has shared his take on Marty Stuart’s early hit “Tempted” to mark Stuart’s 25th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
Worsham delivered the acoustic version of the 1991 hit backstage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
“This is one of my favourite songs of his,” the singer said. He added that the original recording features “one of the greatest guitar solos in all of country music."
Stuart wrote the song with Paul Kennerley, the then-husband of singer Emmylou Harris, and it became a Top 5 hit.
Worsham and Stuart are bot Mississippi natives and Stuart penned the foreword for Worsham’s memoir Follow Your Heart: A Guitar, A Tattoo, And One Man’s Country Music Journey.
