Canadian hip hop artists Classified and Choclair have debuted “Hurt Everybody,” the first track from the latter’s forthcoming album.
“The first tour I ever did was opening for Choclair back in 1999, the year his album Ice Cold came out,” Classified recalled, in a release. “I was nervous, I had never been on tour or met what I considered to be a real ‘rap star’, and I had no idea what he was going to be like.
“At the first show he came up to us backstage and sparked a conversation and was really supportive of me and my music and that really left a mark on me – most importantly - on how you should treat other artists and people that might not be on the same level as you.”
Last year, Classified (aka Luke Boyd) and Choclair (aka Kareem Blake) teamed up with Maestro Fresh Wes to do the 27-city Canadian Classic Tour. While on the road, Classified agreed to produce Choclair’s next album.
“He flew into Enfield (Nova Scotia) for four days and we made the record,” said Classified.
Classified has a verse on “Hurt Everybody,” which Choclair said showcases “our musical chemistry and will have the audience anticipating and excited to see what else we have in store on this record.”
The song comes with a video directed by Brothers Boyd in Enfield. Watch it below:
