Coldplay paid tribute to Tom Petty at the band’s show in Portland, Oregon on Monday night.
After holding a minute of silence, the band teamed up with REM guitarist Peter Buck to perform a cover of Petty’s “Free Fallin’”.
In a video of the performance shared on Coldplay’s Twitter, the crowd can be heard singing along to the 1989 hit.
Petty’s death was confirmed Monday night by his longtime manager. The singer was found unconscious Sunday night at his Malibu home after suffering cardiac arrest.
