Canadian country star Dallas Smith chose Father’s Day to premiere his latest video — a touching visual for the song “Sky Stays This Blue.”
Penned by Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley and Josh Osborne, the song is featured on Smith’s album Side Effects, which came out last September.
The video stars the adorable Vayda, Smith’s 3-year-old daughter with wife Kristen.
“This video means everything to me,” Smith said, in a release. “Vayda is going to have this memory for the rest of her life as a reminder of how much she's loved and I will cherish the moments we captured forever.”
The video was directed by Stephano Barberis, who happens to be Vayda’s godfather.

Smith, who also has a young son from a previous relationship, told iHeartRadio.ca last year that being a dad has affected his song choices.
“What I was doing was very, very negative content — you know, bad relationships, that kind of stuff. When you have kids your life changes for the better in a lot of ways and I wanted my music to reflect that,” he explained.
“I want them — when they decide to look at my catalogue and sort of dive deeper into what dad did when they were kids — I want them to be proud of what I did and not think that I was unhappy while they were in my life. Because I’m not.
“These are honestly the best years of my life with my two kids and I want my music to reflect that.”

In fact, Smith said his children are what keeps him from making the move from B.C. to Nashville.
“My son lives four minutes down the street from me with his mom. I take him to school when I’m home. I’m very involved,” he said.
“So if I moved to Nashville full-time, it might be good for my career but it wouldn’t be very good for my sleep. I wouldn’t be able to rest my head at night knowing that that’s what the trade-off is.”
Smith, who is currently planning a cross-Canada tour for later this year, performs a handful of festival gigs this summer in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
