It’s the Degrassi: The Next Generation reunion we’ve all been waiting for.
The video for Drake’s new track “I’m Upset” is an epic throwback to where it all started for the artist formerly known as Jimmy Brooks.
After waking up at centre court inside the Air Canada Centre – home of Drake’s beloved Toronto Raptors – the rap superstar heads to his high school reunion.
There, Drake reconnects with his Degrassi: The Next Generation co-stars, including Shane Kippel (Spinner), Lauren Collins (Paige Michalchuk), Stacey Farber (Ellie Nash), Adamo Ruggiero (Marco Del Rossi), Jake Epstein (Craig Manning), Nina Dobrev (Mia Jones), and Stefan Brogren (Snake).
Also appearing in the video are one-time Degrassi guest stars Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith).
The video, directed by Karena Evans, shows that not much has changed in the halls of Degrassi Community School – there’s still sex, drugs and drama.
The end-credits will look familiar to anyone who watched the Canadian series.
Shot in Toronto, Degrassi: The Next Generation ran from 2001 to 2015. Drake appeared in 145 episodes up until 2009.
“I’m Upset” is one of the songs on Drake’s fifth album Scorpion, which drops June 29.
