Self-proclaimed Little Mix fangirl Ed Sheeran took a beat from promoting his forthcoming ÷ (Divide) album and tried his hand at the girl group's latest single "Touch" for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.
For his live session, Sheeran tickled his acoustic guitar to give the song a bouncy acoustic facelift, while his backup singers assisted him on the doting chorus.
“Can I say that the one concert I went to last year [was Little Mix]. I didn’t go to any gigs and I was in Milan and I’m a Little Mix fan girl,” Sheeran said (via NME). He added: “Who isn’t [a secret Little Mix fan]? I rarely meet boys now who don’t like Little Mix, they just have hit upon hit, there’s not a song that comes out that I’m not like, ‘Oh, that’s gonna be in my head for a month now.’ They’re always on point."
Sheeran is currently on a media blitz to promote his ÷ album – out March 3 – with its singles "Shape of You," "Castle on the Hill," and the track "How Would You Feel." The latter song was a last minute addition to the project after his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, dubbed it her favorite.
"I was like, this is the one time I could release a song and it could be played on the radio when it's five minutes," he told On Air with Ryan Seacrest. "I think when the album is out, people will just go for the singles. So the song isn't a single, but I want to put it out because I want loads of people to hear it. I said to my girlfriend, 'What's your favorite song on the album?' and she said, 'You forgot this existed and I've got it in my email because I'm the only one you sent it to.'"
