There was confusion and chaos at Saturday night’s On the Run II Tour show in Atlanta after someone managed to get on stage and rush at Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
The superstars were walking to the back of the stage after performing “Apes**t” when a young man made his way up and ran after them.
The Carters’ back-up dancers – like bees protecting the Queen Bey – rushed at the man before security guards were able to tackle him to the ground.
A publicist for Beyoncé and Jay-Z said the couple was not injured by the “intoxicated male." Police identified him as Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell, 26. He was issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
The Carters are scheduled to perform in Atlanta again on Sunday night (with at least one new security guard watching the stage, we're guessing).
