Geddy Lee was back on stage Wednesday night in his hometown Toronto.
The Rush bassist was in the crowd at the Danforth Music Hall for the Claypool Lennon Delirium show and joined fellow bassist Les Claypool (of Primus) and singer Sean Lennon on the Beatles' “Tomorrow Never Knows.”
Lee strapped on one of Claypool's Carl Thompson basses, rather than his own signature Fender Jazz bass.
Check out fan-shot footage of the performance below.
A return to the stage has been a long time coming for the Rush front man, whose last public performance was subbing for the late-Chris Squire at Yes's 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Since completing a press tour for his Big, Beautiful Book of Bass this past winter, Lee has been contemplating song ideas he's accumulated since Rush's final tour. The bassist has maintained his intension to record new music, but hasn’t shared a timeline for the project.
