A day after the death of George Michael, many fans are wondering what was the last song he performed in concert?
Fittingly, it may have been “I Remember You.”
Video posted online shows Michael singing the 1941 classic as the encore at the final show of his Symphonica Tour. (The song starts at the 8:00 mark.)
The clip, shot by a fan, was recorded Oct. 17, 2012 at Earls Court in London.
“When my life is through,” sings Michael. "And the angels ask me to recall / The thrill of them all / Then I will tell them I remember you.”
“I Remember You” — written by Johnny Mercer and Victor Schertzinger — was written for Judy Garland, who died in 1969 at 47.
Michael died on Christmas Day at 53.
His version of the song was performed following a medley of his hits “Amazing,” “I'm Your Man,” and “Freedom 90.”
The Symphonica Tour kicked off in August 2011 did not include any North American dates.
Michael’s last concert in Canada was at Montreal’s Bell Centre on July 18, 2008 — the third Canadian stop on his 25 Live tour after Toronto and Vancouver.
The shows ended with an encore that featured “Careless Whisper” and “Freedom 90.”
