Ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump, Green Day debuted the lyric video for “Troubled Times," a track on the band's new album Revolution Radio.
"A new day dawning / Comes without warning / So don't think twice / We live in troubled times," sings Billie Joe Armstrong.
The video, created by Manu Viqueira and David Rodriguez Simón, shows scenes of well-known protests and revolutions countered with images of a hate-hurling politician in a “Make America Great Again” hat.
It ends with mushroom clouds..
In a message on Monday -- Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the U.S. -- Armstrong said: "Today we celebrate love and compassion more than ever.”
The song asks "What good is love and peace on earth / When it's exclusive / Where's the truth in the written word / If no one reads it."
Green Day got plenty of attention at the American Music Awards in November when they chanted “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA” while performing “Bang Bang.”
