John Oates – half of Hall & Oates – is paying tribute to American roots music on the new album Arkansas.
The 69-year-old musician and the Good Road Band released the title track on Wednesday.
Written by Oates, the song is part of a collection that includes originals and covers recorded on analog tape in less than two weeks. The album, out Feb. 2, follows 2013’s Good Road to Follow.
Arkansas is the fifth studio album from Oates, who recorded 18 studio albums with Daryl Hall and had hits like “Private Eyes,” “Maneater,” Kiss on My List” and “Out of Touch.”
A native of Philadelphia, Oates currently lives in Nashville.
