Justin Bieber appears to have learned his lesson after his garbage live rendition of his remix to Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," and is no longer attempting to perform the song. Unfortunately, his refusal to churn out a rendition of the smash almost cost him an unfortunate smack to the head during his weekend set at Summerburst Festival.
"I can't do 'Despacito.' I don't even know it," he told the crowd on the Stockholm stage. After denying the request, one attendee pelted an object at the singer's head, but Justin swiftly dodged the attack. "Whoa, don’t throw things at me," he said.
Despite the enormous success of the pop star's remix to the cut, Bieber caught major flack when he attempted to perform the song at NYC's 1OAK Nightclub in May. After failing to remember the words, the 23-year-old filled the chorus with "blah blah blah," which many folks from the Latinx community considered to be disrespectful to the Spanish language.
Either way, Fonsi took Biebster's defense on this one, telling Rolling Stone that "Despacito" is quite the difficult song to perform. "That chorus is not easy to sing, even for fluent Spanish singers like myself," he admitted. "It's got a lot of lyrics, it's kind of tongue-twisty."
