And the winner for the best opening sequence at the 74th Golden Globe Awards goes to…
Host Jimmy Fallon kicked off Sunday’s show with a musical number inspired by the night's big winner, La La Land.
The opening was jam-packed with celebrity cameos — including Nicole Kidman, Amy Adams, Kit Harington, Tina Fey and John Travolta — and it culminated with Justin Timberlake and Fallon dancing together.
Of course, there were a few Canadians in the hilarious sequence. Vancouver’s Ryan Reynolds sat atop a grand piano to seductively spit a Lifesaver into Fallon’s mouth and Finn Wolfhard appeared with his young Stranger Things co-stars.
Ontario-born Ryan Gosling seemed to get a kick out of being included in the segment, which was directed by Dan Opsal and choreographed by Mandy Moore (no, not the singer/actress).
La La Land won seven Golden Globes, setting a new record, including one for Gosling, who gave a heartfelt acceptance speech.
Original Song honours went to Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for "City of Stars" from La La Land, while Hurwitz won for composing the film's score.
