Katy Perry rode into Hump Day with a new single, “Harleys in Hawaii.”
“You and I / Riding Harleys in Hawaii / I’m on the back, I’m holding tight,” she sings. “Want you to take me for a ride / When I hula, hula, hula / So good you’ll take me to the jeweler, jeweler, jeweler.
"There’s pink and purple in the sky-y ay / We’re riding Harleys in Hawaii-ai-ai.”
The track, co-written and co-produced by Charlie Puth, follows “Never Really Over” and “Small Talk” as a taste of what’s to come from her forthcoming follow-up to 2017’s Witness.
Perry told the Zach Sang Show in July that the song was inspired by a trip to Hawaii with fiancé Orlando Bloom. "We rented a Harley because we were just there for a few days," she explained. "I can remember specifically where I was, the street corner I was at in Oahu and turning that corner and whispering to Orlando, going "I'm going to write a song called 'Harleys In Hawaii.'"
“Harleys in Hawaii” came with a video directed by Manson (aka Pau Lopez, Gerardo del Hierro and Tomas Pena). Watch it below:
