After days of teasing, Kelly Clarkson has taken the wraps off “Love So Soft” – the first single from her forthcoming album Meaning Of Life.
The singer’s eighth studio album, out Oct. 27, is described as “smart and sensual soul-inspired pop” and is her first collection of new music since 2015’s Piece by Piece.
Clarkson once again teamed up with Jason Halbert, Jesse Shatkin and Greg Kurstin and worked for the first time with talents like Mick Schultz, The Monarch and Nick Ruth.
A video for “Love So Soft,” directed by Dave Meyers, debuted Thursday.
"I've never had this many effects happening in a video. I've never had such involvement," Clarkson said in a statement. "I've had involvement with my band before, but the girls, they're so highlighted on the record, Nicole [Hurst], and Bridget [Sarai], and Jessi [Collins], that I really wanted to incorporate that in the visuals as well.
"Just to give them props, because people always see our face out front, but you never see all these amazingly talented individuals that make it happen."
In addition to having a new album, Clarkson’s new children’s book River Rose And The Magical Christmas will be released on Oct. 24.’
