We're all well aware of Kesha's long and public legal battle with Dr. Luke. It was one of the major topics of conversation that Viceland's music doc series Noisey couldn't avoid when talking to the singer during her recent appearance on the Nashville-focused episode of the series.
During the pop star's segment, cameras followed Kesha around Springwater, a dive bar where she and her mother used to perform, before heading over to the city's historic Ryman Auditorium for her Bob Dylan birthday tribute. It was an opportunity for her to showcase her Nashville roots, but also let viewers in on the emotional turbulence that her career has been hit with in recent years.
"When you work really hard at something, and then to have it taken away from you is pretty devastating. I worked my ass off for a lot of years to be able to do it," she told cameras. "I sang backup vocals and the first couple of songs I was on, I didn't get credited, but I didn't give a f**k because I just had this, like, one vision. Once you earn that and make that happen [and] then have that taken away from you is pretty devastating. It is, like, definitely a mind-f**k,"Kesha explained, before breaking down in tears.
Thankfully, it appears as if Kesha has found people to help her fight for her musical freedom. On Wednesday, the pop star took to Instagram to post a seflie alongside Macklemore. "cute pic rap man," she captioned the photo. Is there a collaboration in the works?
