Kesha paid tribute to Tom Petty during her concert in Boston this week.
Petty died Monday at 66.
“I’m not trying to be a downer, but I just think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written,” Kesha told the crowd.
“I wanna pay my respects.”
The singer then performed an abridged version of Petty’s 1991 track “Into the Great Wide Open,” accompanied only by guitar.
Kesha is clearly a Petty fan — she performed “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” at Petty Fest in 2012 and “Free Fallin’” in 2014.
The pop star’s tour stops in Toronto on Oct. 16.
