Lady Gaga is giving fans a million reasons to see her new movie A Star Is Born.
The pop superstar is seen singing with Bradley Cooper in the film's first official trailer, which debuted Wednesday.
"Almost every single person has told me they liked the way I sounded but they didn't like the way I look," Gaga’s character Ally tells Cooper’s character Jackson.
“I think you’re beautiful,” he says.
The two fall in love and juggle his music career and her rising stardom.
Songs for the movie, which were filmed live, were written by Gaga along with Mark Ronson, Jason Isbell and Lukas Nelson.
It’s Gaga’s biggest on-screen role so far. After appearing in 2013’s Machete Kills and 2014’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (and playing herself in Muppets Most Wanted), the singer earned acclaim for her starring role in the TV series American Horror Story.
The original A Star Is Born, starring Fredric March and Janet Gaynor, came out in 1937. It was remade in 1954 with James Mason and Judy Garland and again in 1976 with Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Steisand.
A Star Is Born opens in cinemas on Oct. 5 – but a source said to expect an announcement next month about it premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
