Lennon Stella countered the news this past weekend that her North American tour has been postponed by sharing a new song, “Fear of Being Alone.”
Penned by Malay Ho, Paul ‘Phamous’ Shelton, Caroline Ailin and Emily Warren, the track comes from the Canadian singer’s debut studio album Three. Two. One., out April 24.
“The risk of wasted time is keeping me convinced I shouldn’t go ahead and give you up like this,” the 20-year-old sings. “And I really really wish I didn’t have to make excuses ‘cause I’m scared to find out what the truth is / I’m scared to find out it’s not love that keeps us holding on / It’s the fear of / It’s the fear of being alone.”
The single comes with a video, directed by CeCe Dawson. "Honestly never been so proud of a music video," Stella said in an Instagram post. "We made it happen with what we had n I love it a lot – hope you guys do too."
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced Stella to postpone a tour that was scheduled to kick off May 22 and included a May 26 stop in Toronto and the following night in Montreal followed by shows in Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg in June.
“There has been nothing I have looked forward to more than releasing my debut album and feeling the energy of the release while playing it live," Stella said on Instagram. "My heart breaks."
According to a release, “all tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates to be revealed at a later time.”
