A special Christmas edition of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden aired on Thursday’s Late Late Show. During his ride, Corden sang with a slew of top singers, who previously appeared in the recurring segment.
Carpool Karaoke has become Corden’s signature late-night segment. Each bit usually features the host needing to carpool to work, leading him to enlist a famous singer as his passenger. As they travel, the pair belt out the musical artist’s hits, chit chat, and act altogether goofy.
Now for this special holiday-inspired version, it began with Mariah Carey driving in Corden’s car, which was filled with presents. After the talk-show host asked her what she would like for Christmas, Carey responded that she wanted him to sing her hit song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” And with that, it cut to Corden singing the song with Carey, then Adele, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas, Elton John.
Others who sang the song with tremendous spirit were Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Chris Martin, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Where will the Christmas Carpool Karaoke end up ranking on the all-time list? Well, Adele’s edition remains the most-viewed on YouTube with more than 139 million watches. Bruno Mars’ ride, which just premiered on Tuesday’s Late Late Show, already has 14 million views. That’s more than Madonna’s has earned, even though her installment debuted last week.
