Mariah Carey popped in on a performance of her 1993 hit “Hero” by the stars of Canadian series Schitt’s Creek during Sunday’s Dear Class of 2020 special on YouTube.
Portraying their characters from the show, homegrown stars Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, Emily Hampshire and Noah Reed harmonized with others via Zoom.
In the final moments of the cover, Carey showed up – with her hair blowing gently, of course.
When the song was over, the singer apologized to O’Hara’s character.
“Moira, darling, I hope you didn’t mind that I jumped in like that,” said Carey. “You all sounded so good that I had to get in on it."

Carey then read a tribute to educators and students who completed the school year in isolation.
“To all the teachers and professors, especially the ones who had to deal with students like me, who never really showed up at school on time, you rose to the occasion and helped these students reach the finish line,” she said.
“And to the students who had to deal with this bleak moment, congratulations on this historic accomplishment.”
Then, Carey gave David (Dan Levy) a little taste of her 1995 single “Always Be My Baby” featuring a cameo by Moroccan and Monroe, her twins with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
