Marshmello and Demi Lovato chose Thursday – World Suicide Prevention Day – to debut their collaboration “OK Not To Be OK.”
“Feeling like you’re trapped in your own skin, and now your body’s frozen / Broken down, you’ve got nothing left,” Lovato sings. “Don’t get lost in the moment or give up when you’re closest / all you need is somebody to say / It’s okay not to be okay.”
A message accompanying the video on YouTube reads: “Suicide prevention starts with a conversation we're not having with our mental health due to stigma. The first step to breaking that silence is dispelling stigmas of fear, judgement, and shame about our internal experiences. We achieve that by proclaiming It's Ok Not To Be Ok!”
