Mason Ramsey, the 13-year-old who went viral when he yodelled a Hank Williams tune in a Walmart two years ago, is now singing about cow farts.
Ramsey is the star of a new Burger King U.S. campaign promoting the fast food chain’s efforts to reduce methane emissions by feeding their cows lemongrass.
“When cows fart and burp and splatter / well, it ain’t no laughing matter,” he sings as he emerges from a cow’s butt. In the catchy chorus, Ramsey and a group of kids sing about “reducing meth-aa-aa-aane, meth-aa-aa-aane.”
In the song, Ramsey points out that “scientists have proven” that adding lemongrass to a cow’s diet helps their digestion and reduces environmentally harmful methane emissions. In the fine print at the end of the video, Burger King says researchers found lemongrass reduced methane emissions by an average of 33 per cent per day during the last three to four months of a cow’s life.
For now, Whoppers made with the new beef are being only being sold in select restaurants in four U.S. cities.
