Meghan Trainor came back Thursday with a brand new single, “No Excuses.”
It’s a preview of what fans can expect on her forthcoming third album – her first since 2016’s Thank You.
“I love how so many women are standing up for what’s right,” Trainor said, in a release. “I wanted to write us all a powerful anthem.
“Sometimes, people talk down to me, because I’ve only been doing this for four years, so I wrote this song. It’s my modern version of ‘R-E-S-P-E-C-T.’ It’s all about equality and being kind.”
The track, which was co-written with JKash and Andrew Wells, comes with a video directed by Colin Tilley.
“No Excuses” comes after Trainor, 24, underwent vocal cord surgery that left her on mute for four months.
