Missy Elliott stars in a new Walmart ad that reunites the cast of 2003's Mean Girls to advertise the big box chain's upcoming Black Friday event.
Elliott, of course, did not star in the film, however, her song "Pass That Dutch" did. The hit from the rapper's fifth album, 2003's This Is Not a Test!, appeared in a famous, comedic scene in which Cady (Lindsay Lohan) falls into a trashcan as she parades the hallway with the Plastics.
In the ad, "Pass That Dutch" plays as Elliott portrays a gym teacher at North Shore High School, explaining the benefits of having a Walmart+ membership (access to the deals hours earlier!). She's convincing!
Of course, most fans will enjoy seeing the film's stars like Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Lacy Chabert, Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra reprise their roles, 20 years later.
Mean Girls is set for a major revival in the New Year when the musical adaptation is released on January 12, 2024, starring Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auliʻi Cravalho, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm and Tim Meadows.
