East Coast duo Neon Dreams on Thursday released “about you…” – a song it says was inspired by a leaf falling from a tree.
“It's funny where my imagination goes in seconds when nature intrigues me,” Frank Kadillac explained, in a release. “I felt like I could relate to that very moment. Having to let go of something that felt like it was a part of me was sad but uplifting because it's a sign of growth.
“Letting go of things that serve your life no purpose would be a great song to write about.”
What started as a poem soon got a beat and was turned into a song over three days at a cabin outside Halifax.
“It's magical just getting away from everyday distractions to focus on something you believe in,” said Kadillac.
The song follows January's "High School Dropout" and debuted with a video, which Kadillac directed with Alex Gayoso in California, Arizona, Utah and in the UK.
Neon Dreams are part of the iHeartRadio FanFest line-up in Toronto on May 8.
