Niall Horan faced one of his fears during a Carpool Karaoke segment that aired Thursday on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
After explaining why he’s scared of pigeons and their natural bravado, Horan was challenged to hold one of the birds while a handler placed others on his shoulders and head.
During the drive through Los Angeles, Corden and Horan sang along to hits like “Slow Hands,” “Nice to Meet Ya," "Put A Little Love On Me" and "No Jugment" as well as One Direction's "Steal My Girl."
Horan also reflected on his days in One Direction. “You’re in a little bubble and you don’t get to see what it looks like from the outside,” he said. “It’s only looking back now I realize how lucky we were. There was no one doing stadiums at the time. It’s just insane.”
The pop star also shared a story about meeting Kim Kardashian backstage at an Ariana Grande concert; told his 16-year-old self – in the form of an action figure – what to expect in the next decade; and answered some tough questions in a lie-detector test.
