Niall Horan proved he’s a master of accents during an appearance Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The 26-year-old Irish singer wrapped a festive scarf around his neck to read part of the 1823 poem ’Twas the Night Before Christmas in seven accents.
Horan started with Scottish and seamlessly switched to Russian, Spanish, French and Australian. He also did Southern U.S. and Brooklyn accents.
Although the bit was rehearsed in advance and scripted for Horan, Fallon convincingly pretended to challenge the singer to read from the poem in the different accents.
Horan is in New York to perform at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden on Friday night and appear as musical guest on Saturday Night Live for the first time as a solo artist (One Direction performed on SNL on Dec. 7, 2013 and on Dec. 20, 2014).
"I mean, it's SNL," Horan replied when asked if he's nervous. "To get the call from Lorne [Michaels] to say you're going to be musical guest is pretty sweet. So I get proper nervous."
