The Grand Ole Opry has shared a performance of “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart” by Old Dominion.
The May 9th performance at the famous Nashville venue was posted online late last week, not long after the country group announced an Aug. 25 release for their sophomore album Happy Endings.
“No Such Thing as a Broken Heart” channels John Cougar Mellencamp’s 1982 hit “Jack and Diane.”
Frontman Matthew Ramsey sings: “I wonder if Jack and Diane ever made it / After the drums and the guitars all faded / Was the best they could do go enough / Or did the heartland just swallow them up?”
Happy Endings is a follow-up to Old Domination’s 2015 debut Meat and Candy, which spawned hits like “Break Up With Him,” “Snapback” and “Song for Another Time.”
