The 90s hit “Zombie” by the Cranberries was given new life on an episode of America’s Got Talent that aired Tuesday.
Olox, a professional music duo from Los Angeles, covered the song in their unique way – blending vocals with throat singing, nature sounds and drumming.
Zarina Kopyrina, who hails from the Sakha Republic in Arctic Siberia, and partner Andreas Veranyan-Urumidis have performed at numerous festivals and released the album ÙS DOJDU.
Their performance on AGT impressed the panel of judges, who voted Olox through to the next round of competition.
Written by the late Dolores O’Riordan about the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington, England, “Zombie” was released as the lead single from the Cranberries’ 1994 album No Need to Argue. It became a Top 20 hit in both the U.S. and Canada.
