Paul McCartney gave tourists in New York an elevator ride to remember this week.
On an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the ex-Beatle had some fun with visitors to the NBC building at 30 Rockefeller.
When their elevator door opened up, they found themselves facing Fallon and McCartney, who were pretending to be reading newspapers, playing ping-pong, or simply standing there as if waiting for an elevator.
The surprised tour participants shrieked in excitement, stood in silent shock, or declared “no way!”
One woman screamed and got emotional when she saw who was standing only feet away from, albeit for only a few seconds.
“I thought, when I was little, I was going to marry Paul McCartney,” she said later, “so that’s the closest I’ve ever got and I am thrilled.”
McCartney was on The Tonight Show to promote Friday's release of his new album Egypt Station.
